AdmittedCharge:
Failed to ride out to finish of RaceEvidence:
Following the running of Race 5 (J Swap Contractors Te Aroha Cup), Information A14428 was filed with the Judicial Committee. It was alleged that Mr Yuill failed to ride his mount out over the final 75m when there was a reasonable chance of finishing 4th (RISING RANSOM finished 6th).
Mr Yuill said that he understood the Rule, charge and confirmed that he admitted the breach.
Ms Selvakumaran showed the film replays and pointed out where Mr Yuill ceased to ride his mount out (75m) and was beaten for 4th placing by two heads.
Mr Yuill agreed and said that he thought that he was well beaten and mistook where the winning post was.
Decision:
As the charge was admitted it was deemed proved.
Submission For Penalty:
Mr Williamson said that Mr Yuill had a clear record under the Rule. He added that it was difficult to recommend a penalty due to the fact that Mr Yuill was an Amateur Rider.
Reasons For Penalty:
Under the circumstances a discussion was held with all interested parties as to what could be a suitable penalty. It was agreed unanimously that a 2-riding day suspension would be appropriate.
Penalty:
Mr Yuill’s Amateur Rider Licence was suspended from 27 June up to and including 11 July 2021, two days where Amateur Riding Races are programmed.
